I use humor and warmth to connect with my clients. I am uniquely and authentically me. Your mental wellness is vital to your quality of life, and I’m here to help you achieve your goals for a fulfilling and meaningful life!
As a Maryland local, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Family Science and Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park right after graduating high school. Post-graduation, I spent time in various roles within the restaurant industry, became a certified paralegal, and even worked as an early childhood educator. These opportunities eventually led to me to obtain a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
I am trained in DBT, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which is a type of therapy that helps people traverse the emotional ups and downs of life. DBT combines mindfulness practices with practical skills in areas like emotional regulation and distress tolerance. I have learned how to teach individuals how to balance acceptance with change, helping individuals navigate their emotions and behaviors more effectively. This approach is especially beneficial for those facing relationship challenges, seeking to understand and manage their emotions, and coping with stress, as well as for individuals managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or borderline personality disorder.
I am culturally competent and trauma-informed. I have worked with people of many different backgrounds and challenges, and have found working with men and addressing men's issues to be uniquely rewarding. I have worked with clients with "AuDHD" and other neurodivergent characteristics. As a queer-identified therapist, I have an extensive background working with those in the LGBTQ+ community but am not limited to serving those in that community alone.
